Ok I have recently been watching the dragonball series and in the first world tournament finals were master roshi is pretending to be Jackie chun, uses a drunken fist technique against goku. Know does anyone think it would be a good idea to add this to the styles.
It could add a certain percent to a physical attack, And decrease the opponent's chance of blocking or dodging.
If most people think this is a good idea then we will try to sort out
the percentage of its advantages.
Feel free to try to add something to it if you think it will make the idea better!

These isn't a bad idea I kind of like it, since I actually fought against someone who used this technique against me. I think if it was to be added in the game, it wouldn't add attack damage but increase the chances for you to dodge/block. while decreasing your opponents chances to dodge/block, this is based of the fact that it is hard to tell you opponents movements so blocking or dodging would be harder (for opponent). I do think at lower belt levels your attack should be weaken, and you should have a possibility of hurting yourself (trip/falling) the longer you stay in the stance.

If you develop it enough into something I can actually evaluate, then I'll let you know what I think about it.

I knew what it was about the moment i read the title. It's not a bad idea, but I don't generally like it. I wouldn't mind it being added at all.

Thanks, ok so it would be that having this as our fighting stance would increase our chances to block and dodge and also decrease our opponent's chances to block or dodge.
can anyon else think of something we could add, and also who nows how mutch it would go up to I think yellow belt both the effect's would be, +3% and -3% .
Also every time the belt goes up, the Percentage will go up on one and the other will stay the same so we will get to chose witch one we want to improve on. It could be =2 percent every upgrade until we reach the last belt!

I think its a great idea...
But,I think you need a penalty to your ability to dodge or block.
Seeing as it is the DRUNKEN fist technique.

Oh I forgot to mention you will have a 10 percent Chance to fall over and cause damedge to yourself, maybe 15%.
Are you ok with this?

The whole point of the Drunken Fist Technique is to make your moves unpredictable, your acting drunk not literally smashed.
And not my kind of thing but I like the idea as well.

Cheers, Let's hope that it'll get a chance to be added.
Its not a bad idea, but I'd like to hear some actual solid numbers on it.

Not nessacarily from where it supposedly originates, the user had to physically be drunk to have the full ruthless nature of the technique. The imitation of being drunk came beforehand.
If you are drunk, you forget what you are AND aren't capable of,giving yourself as well as your opponent no idea what you were going to do next.
It's known as Zui Quan as well.
Here is an excerpt from an article on the drunken fist technique.
"The postures are created by momentum and weight of the body, and imitation is generally through staggering and certain type of fluidity in the movements. It is considered to be among the most difficult wushu styles to learn due to the need for powerful joints and fingers. Practitioners of Zui Quan are often actually intoxicated, Zui Quan techniques are highly acrobatic."

Intoxication isn't necessary though. It wouldn't make sense for one fighting style to require an item to use wheras others don't, so imitation would be a better choice. But that's just my opinion; and not an important one.

Mado I thought I have, I ain't very good at explaining things But if I new the order Of belts Then I could probably make this idea clearer and better, also if I new the order of belts I will probably take out the idea of adding the upgrade on ourselves!

Craney, just do what I told you to do, use a system to explain it. Kind of like what I did with Ninjutsu, it gave everyone numbers to work with and understand what it was about.
As for the idea of the technique hurting you. It should only be done at lower belt levels, and once the person reaches black or brown then the negative effect of hurting yourself, either becomes really small or just goes away. Since it is easy to tell that novices of the technique have a chance of hurting themselves. I even talked to the guy after I fought him since it was such an interesting technique. When I asked him how long he had been practicing his martial art he said about 8 years. I asked him was it hard to learn he said, when he first started off he hurt himself several times. I then asked him how he said, the simple fact how easy it is to fall on your face and trying to strengthen your joints hurt as well, but it wasn't as bad as falling. It shouldn't take away from block or dodge it should add to it. I had a really hard time trying to hit this guy with just about anything, and I had a really hard time dodging his attacks since they were very unpredictable.

Ok I will have a go at making its own belt order up!
Yellow belt- adds 3% to your chances to block/dodge, takes 3% of opponents
chances. You have 15% chance of falling over and causing
damage to yourself.
Blue belt- Adds 5% to your chances to block/dodge, Takes 4% of opponents
chances. You have 14% chance of falling over and causing
damage to yourself.
Green belt- Adds 5% to you chances to block/dodge, Takes 7% of opponents
chances. You have 10% chance of falling over and causing
damage to yourself.
Red belt- Adds 7% to your chances to block/dodge, Takes 8% of opponents
chances. You have 7% chance of falling over and causing damage
to yourself.
black belt- Adds 15% to your chances to block/dodge, Takes 10% of
opponents chances. You have 5% chance of falling over and
causing damage to yourself.
This should give an idea on how it will work, by the way the damage caused from falling over could be 4% of base powerlevel! Is this better for you?

Thanks roner for the comment, and the reason that you can still injure yourself on black belt is because even professionals can hurt themselves
if they do not preform it properly.
Anyway I'm hoping to hear reno's, Mado's, epyon's and teen gohon's opinions now that I have provided better information. Hope it's better for you!
