Anyone else see this? I saw it posted on another forum, just made me think...and made me more than a bit angry.

Yeah, I've heard about this one and another before it actually. The bit about no one looking into simply due to the lack of money just shows you that a company's mission statement is for shit.

Anyways, something like a year ago, Emory University in Atlanta sold a cancer vaccine for testing and this one is actually able to be patented, sold, etc. and it's getting the tests and whatnot if I'm correctly informed.

That's awesome. I hope they do come out with a cure for cancer. That way I could pick smoking back up:D Just kidding...sort of;)

It makes me mad too. Its sad that rolling in dough means more than saving people's lives.

I've always felt like drug and medical companies never put forth much effort into curing cancer. I don't think its a huge conspiracy where they're holding it back, but what makes a company more money: keeping a patient alive for 5 years and having them pay for medical treatments, or curing them in 3 months and never seeing them or their checkbooks again?

You're absolutely correct, good sir. The fact of the matter is that the big companies aren't run by your local doctor and nurse who know you and care about you and your family, but they're run by men in suits who care about themselves and their families. They realize that more cash means better for them and their children.

And they control what is researched.

Ever seen that Chris Rock special where he talks about cancer? The government is like drug dealers. They don't make money on the cure, they make money on the come back.
