View Full Version : Ideas for devils and humans

I was thinking maybe devils and humans could use another couple of boosts, to help balance out the other classes with fighting bonuses, meditation, and transformations.

I was thinking something along the lines of Humans getting a discount at shops, or items being 10-20% more useful for them. Since they're a techonologically advanced race we could say they tweak any items they get, such as bases, weighted clothing, turrets, whatever. So maybe their bases are 10% stronger, weighted clothes are 10 or 20% better for them. Just say they're a more crafty race than anyone else =] This would make them getting stronger SLIGHTLY faster and make them very useful for a team so they can tweak a base and its defenses.

I was thinking devils and/or duugos would be a cool race to have some kind of evil party bonus. Like if a duugo or devil is the leader of a team or if they get evil NPCs to follow them, all the followers get a bonus to PL when in their presence. To balance it I guess you could say it works for good or evil players, with an alignment between +/- 5 to 10. This would be a cool thing to include for teams in my opinion, and encourage them to have a devil or duugo on their team. Maybe make the duugo add 5-10% to his followers and the devil add 10-20%. It makes sense that duugos would be naturally good leaders from the show, and since devils aren't in the show very much and they could use a bonus, we could make it this.


Both of these ideas are geared more at making these races more fun and better for a team, instead of trying to make them as powerful as other races late-game.

If you have any other ideas or additions to these, let me know.

More bonuses for humans? I was going to suggest that they have something removed! Either their starting weapon, the medium armor, or their double weapons...hell, maybe even make time freeze open to all races.

As "advanced" as the humans think they are, they are actually far behind...The saiyans are more advanced, although I think they just stole the tuffles technology. Frieza is def more advanced, but maybe he just stole his as well....hmmm

Saiyans are a very primitive race, except for what they stole from the tuffles. Therefore they wouldn't be able to tweak or come up with new technology. The duugos aren't fleshed out enough in the series to know if they're more advanced or just stole technology.

Think about it. Bulma fixes a scouter. Capsule corp. make ships and capsules... Dr. Gero creates a series of androids for god sakes. Humans are the only race shown to continually come up with technology. Its possible they started discovering technology, so they're further behind, but that they're better at developing new technology or tweaking existing machinery.

I agree time freeze is a ridiculously good move, but without any training or fighting bonuses, the dual weapons isn't that amazing except for the beginning of the game. Between jiu jitsu and karate, which can't be used with weapons, they're not even much, if any, better once those are learned. If they fall behind in PL, what good is doing 35% damage with no PL loss if you can't hit an opponent and are 1/10 their PL???

These things could either start low and be boosted later, or not be known at all and learned later as well. I like the idea of finding more race specific things as you progress in the game for all races.

The race quests and race bonuses you have talked about sound cool to me. It gives me no clue where a race stands though. It's impossible to come up with ideas when I don't know the full potential a race has.

Just as there is fighting styles for unarmed combat, I figured there was some for swords as well...maybe they decrease the opponets dodging %, I don't have a clue to be honest.

If a lot of the race stuff is going to be secret and obtained from quests, the players will just have to trust in the refs that everything is balanced.

I'm not sure if Mado would want these ideas secret, or if we can say the potential of them on the rules/races page. Either way the quests and obtaining of them would be a surprise. Then again, players don't know the multiplers for SSJ, duugo transformations, PL requirements for race specific moves...

Hell, players don't know if we have legendary super saiyan, ultra super saiyan, 4 duugo transformations or 10, or whether time freeze requires 100 trillion PL.

Someone (I think Syaoran) suggested to me that the damage for swords be brought down to 10%, and then add in sword styles to bring the damage up to 15%. I like this idea, as it makes swords a bit less 'godly', unless a player decides to seek out and learn sword techniques to make them better. I don't want to give Humans any more advantages out right, however I think it would be fair if maybe once they own a base or something that they can spend x amount of turns upgrading it for free. Something that doesn't necessarily give them an advantage in battle, but does make them a bit more useful for teams. I don't really think Devils really need anything, as the free Saibamen are pretty good, I think. Maybe they could receive two Saibaman seeds every Devil's Star instead of just one? It's hard to tell how balanced/unbalanced Devils are, as most people don't choose them.

Right, I figured that'd be a cool feature that wouldn't actually make them overpowered, but it would help make them unique.
