Ztark Classic World Tournament

(rules are official now: suggestions closed)

The Ztark Classic World Tournament is calling all warriors from across Earth to prove their strength and skill.

This special event will be kicking off officially on :spiral_calendar:April 7th.

Enter a high-stakes, multi-zone arena where the fiercest fighters clash in a nonstop, all-comers brawl. This isn’t just about 1-on-1 combat — it’s every fighter for themselves in a relentless battle royale across nine distinct combat zones.

  • Will you become the Master of the Fire Zone?
  • The Ruler of the Sky Terrace?
  • Or the Battle-Conqueror of the Cement Slab, reigning as King of the Hill?

Combat is only half the challenge — land navigation and strategic movement are just as vital. You’ll need brains as well as brawn to survive the chaos and claim the title of Tournament Champion.

:satellite_antenna: Ztark Network Broadcast | Official Tournament Directive
To all competitors entering the Ztark Classic World Tournament Arena:

Welcome, warriors. By stepping into the ring of Ztark, you agree to abide by the ancient laws of the arena. All battles are being televised globally via Celestial Satellite Broadcast and are viewable in real time through the Tournament’s Discord-synced Crystal Viewer. The world is watching. Fight with honor.

:shield: Combatant Code of Conduct:

  • Daily Combat Readiness:
Fighters must be ready to enter the fray each night of the tournament. If you are unable to appear, you may appoint a recognized Referee Proxy to fight in your stead.

  • Starting Strength:
All competitors will enter the arena at their maximum base Power Level. But remember—there are no divine resets. Angels and Kais will not restore your strength between battles. You must rely on your own wit, strategy, and resources to recover the lost Current Power Level during the event.

  • Evasion Protocols:
Challenges are not always avoidable. You may attempt to evade an incoming challenge, but success is not guaranteed. If a fighter successfully evades, the challenger is granted a 5%–10% base PL restoration as a Consolation Surge.

  • Arena Regulations:

    • All Weapons, Armor, and Gear brought into the arena are allowed.

    • Healing items may not be carried in, but items discovered within the arena zones may be used.

    • The arena consists of nine platforms, each with unique hazards. As the tournament progresses, platforms will collapse, shrinking the battlefield and forcing a confrontation.

  • Visibility & Challenge Mechanics:

    • Challenges are visible to any fighters who occupy the same platform zone.

    • All fights are public and can be spectated through the Crystal Viewer. Use this knowledge wisely.

    • Fights may not always be 1-on-1. Expect free-for-alls, ambushes, and shifting alliances.

:cyclone: Endurance & Resurrection:

  • Combat continues until Knockout or Player Death. Fear not—those who fall will be healed or resurrected after the tournament concludes, with all gear and possessions restored to their original state and location.

  • However, names and identities do not translate back to the outside world. If Sam meets John in the arena, those names are forgotten upon exit. Reintroductions must be made outside the Ztark lens. The Kai’s will be using a form of mind scrambling to confuse ki signatures post-tournament.

:balance_scale: Looting & Divine Enforcement:

  • Looting arena-discovered items (e.g., a Ztark Sensu Bean) is permitted.

  • You may not loot non-arena items (e.g., a personal Saiyan Sword). Violation of this rule invokes immediate divine retribution.

Example:

  • Sam enters with a Saiyan Sword.
  • Sam finds a Ztark Sensu Bean.
  • Kevin defeats Sam and loots the Sensu Bean—that’s allowed.
  • Kevin also tries to take the Saiyan Sword—illegal.
  • AngelAvenger descends - vaporizes Kevin on the spot, and restores the sword to its rightful owner.

:globe_showing_europe_africa: Platform Zones & Environmental Effects – Strategic Intel Briefing

The Ztark Arena is no ordinary battlefield. Each of the nine combat platforms contains unique area effects that can alter the course of a fight—terrain hazards, energy fluctuations, elemental surges, and more. These effects can be your downfall… or your greatest advantage.

If you are on a platform area marked for destruction, you will be moved to the nearest adjacent platform (at random if there are many).

:scroll: Pre-Tournament Insight:
Each fighter will receive divine insight into one platform’s unique effect before the tournament begins. This Secret Knowledge is known only to you. However, all combatants will be randomly placed in the arena at the start of the event.

Use this intelligence wisely:

  • Rush to the platform you know and control the field early

  • Avoid it altogether if you fear its dangers

  • Or set a trap for those unaware

:compass: Platform Discovery Rules:
Upon first stepping foot on a new platform, the fighter will immediately sense some of its properties through instinct and environmental cues. However, not all secrets are so easily revealed.

Some effects must be uncovered through keen observation, deduction, or experimentation. The clever will thrive—those who charge in blindly may not.

:warning: Reminder: The arena shrinks over time. Even if you avoid a zone early, you may be forced into it later. Make every decision count.

:warning: Opt Out: You may opt out of this special event. However there are prizes to be won. Their mystery is only exceeded by their power.

OOC: An example of the flow:

  1. You will spawn at the SW most side of the map(C3). Your clue is ‘The NW fighting platform(A1) has XYZ effects.’
  2. Player likes his clue, and wants to try to fight at A1. Because it benefits him the most.
  3. a day or two later Battle Royale Tournament begins. Email sent…
  4. I go NW.
    ----Answer before 8pm CST.
  5. You arrive at '[platform name], you are in the center of the giant arena. You have learned this platform does [insert effects here]. What do you want to do?
  6. I go NW again.
  7. You somehow escaped the other fighters on the platforms (no challenges issued/roll chances to escape successful). You make it to A1. [insert platforms effects here].
  8. I challenge [so-n-so].
  9. Fight commences per norm within Discord (managed by PMCS)
  10. Email delivered asking if you’d like to Move, Issue a Fight Challenge, or other forms of RP.
  11. I challenge [so-n-so]
    ----Answer before 8pm CST.
  12. Response: You challenge [so-n-so], and coordinate via discord to conduct the fight. However, [other-player] has challenged you. They will be included.
  13. Fight summary; Email delivered asking if you’d like to Move, Issue a Fight Challenge, or other forms of RP. You see mention of 1 platform being removed from XY grid coordinate.
  14. Continue until there is only 1.

:memo: Side note: Programming is being conducted to support movement within player profiles on planetmado.com to assist with land navigation. As a potential alternative to strictly email based updates. More detail to come.

⚙️ OOC Addendum – Tournament Mechanics

  • Platform Movement:
You may move to a different platform once per day as your tournament character. Your chosen destination will determine what environment and potential encounters await you next. Use your character profile (tournament) version to facilitate movement. Keep an eye on the map, you will occasionally find items here as a nice bonus. To move: you click on a tile.

  • You will learn more about certain location mechanics upon your arrival at a new location on the map. We will include these notes within the emails, but you can also request them from ZeroHawk(Seifer Blades) Discord in case you need a reminder/different format. You are entitled to this information as soon as your character arrives at the location, and the tournament is live.

  • Roleplay is urged both as responses here and within the fights themselves. Your main actions involve Movement (from your character profile page), and responses here to challenge opponents. However, you may opt to do otherwise, such as exploring the depths of certain platforms. Each platform is roughly 3-4 football fields in size. Big enough to explore a bit strictly through roleplay and your imagination, but not quite big enough to challenge fighters at other platforms.

  • Should you know special techniques that allow you to fast travel from one location to the next (ie. not using the pathing system within your character profile page). **You may try, but you’ll find you will often fail. Chance might be your friend.

  • Issuing Challenges:
If you share a platform with other fighters, you may issue a challenge once per day. Challenges must be submitted before 7:30 PM CST via email so they may be processed and scheduled for ref-assisted combat. Try to include a description of who you are challenging, and your location on the map (A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3, C1, C2, C3). Please do not issue a challenge, and then move…Silly. Recommend you issue challenges as late in the day, prior to 7:30PM CST, to avoid coordination of movement, etc.

  • Please do not challenge Mado, Reno, or MC Dragon. They are observers only.

  • Responding to Challenges:
We will reach out via discord and email to get your character’s response to the best of our ability. If you can not be found, we will assume you have accepted the challenge to fight.

  • If you can’t fight by time the fights are processed after 7:30pm CST or can’t be found within reasonable time. A ref will assume your character’s identity, and fight on your behalf. He will do his best, but no promises.

  • Evading a Challenge:
You may attempt to decline or evade(move after receiving a challenge). However, due to the intensity of the tournament, you’ll find that fighting is often unavoidable. There is however a decent chance of evasion. Normally a low chance, but fair enough possibility.

  • Consequences of Evading:
If you successfully evade or decline a challenge, the challenger will receive a minor heal bonus (5–10% base PL) as a reward for persistence. The tournament wants action!
