A few of us on Discord were casually talking about Advanced Scouters, wondering if the items could have a list of all the recordings on them. That brought up questions if we can record our own moves, or just have moves recorded from opponents saved up, and then sell the adv scouter to another player.
Here’s what Mado chimed in with:
The original idea behind advanced scouters was solely for the user to record abilities they didn’t already know. I don’t think it’s OP to be able to share it, or for someone to be able to steal it. But it is a fairly expensive item so it does feel a little cheaty to me to turn it into a “team” item.
I’m not against it and not saying no, but what I would rather do is restrict the advanced scouter to the current user, have abilities auto delete after being learned - and then add a base item that allows sharing the recordings. Maybe you can upload the advanced scouter’s memory to a base upgrade module and then other players/teammates could learn from that room.
Thoughts?
This idea of a module in a base holding your teams moves sounded cool, and I remember during the Namek/Ginyu/Frieza sagas they would show one of the planet Frieza’s, and there was a command tower with computers that would keep track of all the information coming in from all the scouters in use, among other things I’m sure. I think it would be awesome if as an Advanced Scouter picks up a new move, it gets sent to the teams bases automatically (if you upgraded to add that module to the base), and the move would only take one day to learn when studying it on the screen, anyone that has entry could watch it. I suppose you could still use your adv scouter, but have to follow the 1/2/3 day random rules to learn.
