I hope everyone has been enjoying the game! I’ve made quite a few new additions over the past week or so. You’ve probably noticed most of them by now, but I’ll go over all of the updates and changes.
Energy Event
For the next two weeks, energy regen is doubled! Go out and get in more fights, explore more of the map… go nuts!
New Features & QoL Updates
Immersive Mode
On your character page you’ll notice a new button called “Immersive Mode” next to your character’s name. Clicking it opens a new modal that takes up the whole screen and gives you a more focused interface to play Planet Mado.
I’m still refining it to get it where I want, but for the most part I’m very happy with it.
Self-Training Overhaul
Instead of set time blocks of training availability, you can now choose from 1/2/4/8 hour training sessions. The longer the training session, the more PL you gain per hour.
If you’re attacked while self training, the training will cancel and no PL gains will be added.
I wanted to give you all something for your character to do while you’re AFK, and this gives you more options than the old method.
As far as the gains go, the full 8 hour self train is equivalent to the old system’s one-time regular training.
Combat
For PvP fights I added an idle turn timer – the normal turn countdown is six hours, but for a sleeping player the timer is reduced to one hour.
I fixed a few bugs related to the fight window – during my testing I had it lock up on me when I clicked an action too quickly. Hopefully that’s fixed now.
Destructo Disc – This one was very buggy. It wasn’t properly removing PL when losing limbs, and the interface would incorrectly tell you the damage it did. How it works now: severing a limb lowers base PL by 20% per limb, until that limb is healed (or you die). Losing limbs also now has an effect: losing one arm means the max damage you can block is 25%, losing both arms means you can’t block at all. Losing one leg lowers dodge chance by 20%, losing both removes your option to dodge. Losing limbs also now causes a heavy bleed – 3% base PL loss per turn for five turns.
Map & Visibility
Other players/mobs/NPCs are now visible on adjacent tiles, whether you know the move Detect Powerlevel, have a scouter, or are an absorb android or not. You won’t know who or what is on that tile, but you’ll at least now be able to see if there are any entities to interact with on the tile before you use energy to move to it.
Bases – now when you place a base, a new quick actions menu button gets added that lists all of your currently placed bases and their locations. No more losing your base!
Move Learning Lockout
The move learning lockout has been overhauled. Instead of a flat six hour lockout, it now scales with how many moves you currently know. At 0 known abilities, the timer is 15 minutes. Each additional learned ability raises the timer by 15 minutes. Once you hit 10 known abilities, the timer gets increased by 30 minutes per ability.
Life skills are capped at 10 minutes and never increase in learning time.
